１９７０年代のジーンズは、若者文化とカウンターカルチャーの象徴として一大ブームを迎えます。
アメリカではヒッピーやロック文化の影響で、 ビンテージ加工やフレアシルエットなど個性的なスタイルが流行。
ジーンズはもはや作業着ではなく、自己表現の手段として広まりました。
日本でもジーンズのスタイルが広がっていきます。
時代の潮流を受け、BOBSONは1969年に国産ジーンズブランドとして誕生。 日本人の体形に合う履き心地の良いジーンズを開発しました。
若者の間で急速にジーンズが広がる中、各社ジーンズブランドも時代の要請にこたえ、 毎年数えきれないほどの新商品を発売しては、多くは時代の流れで消えていきました。 今回、ジーンズ史として当時の息遣いを色濃く感じる商品の復刻を行いました。
1973. Japan's first domestic denim "KD8" was born, and the first fully Japanese-made jeans, from fabric to sewing, were produced. The BOBSON 510, released in 1973, carries the history of Japanese jeans.

万人受けする定番商品の中にも、工夫やアイディアが求められていきます。
一方、ヴィンテージブームの到来により、色落ちや縫製、素材へのこだわりが再評価され、 “本物志向”が静かに広がっていきます。
その中でボブソンは、様々な挑戦を行います。
一つは04ジーンズ。 それまでにないソフトな履き心地を追求し、日常の中で心地よく履けるジーンズを開発。 大量消費の中でも、より顧客の声に応える一本を目指しました。
もうひとつは、「EARTH CULTURE」シリーズ
大量生産の流れに違和感を抱いた若手メンバーを中心に企画された、原点回帰の本格ジーンズ。 細部まで徹底的にこだわり、“長く穿くこと”そのものに価値を置いたシリーズです。
時代が揺れる中で、ボブソンは 「より日常へ」と「より本質へ」という、相反するようでいて両立する道を選びました。 ジーンズと真摯に向き合ってきたことによる、自然な流れだったと考えています。
