QWhat kind of brand is BOBSON?
Launched as a brand in 1969, BOBSON is a Japanese jeans brand that has been making jeans in Okayama ever since. Drawing on decades of skill and experience, we pursue jeans that fit each person's body and bring out their own style. Comfortable the moment you put them on, and comfortable through everyday movements like walking, sitting and moving. We keep crafting jeans that will stay with you five or ten years from now.
To learn more about BOBSON, please see this page.
QWhere are BOBSON jeans made?
BOBSON jeans are made in our own factory in Okayama.
Making jeans involves many processes, including fabric, cutting, sewing, washing and finishing. Each process requires specialized skills, and we choose the right materials and production methods for each product. Building on the denim and sewing expertise cultivated in Okayama, we focus on making jeans you can wear for a long time.
To learn more about how we make our jeans, please see this page.
QWhat is Okayama denim?
Okayama denim refers to denim made entirely within Okayama Prefecture, from fabric production to sewing and finishing. American denim was originally stiff and uncomfortable to wear, but washing techniques that soften the fabric were developed in Okayama, and in 1973 Kurabo began producing domestic denim fabric. This made it possible to complete every process, from fabric to sewing and finishing, within Okayama, establishing a level of craftsmanship recognized around the world. Above all, the red selvedge, which can only be woven on vintage shuttle looms, is a rare skill passed down by a limited number of craftspeople.

QSize exchange service
For orders within Japan, we cover the shipping cost for one size exchange after purchase. Shipping for the second and subsequent exchanges is at the customer's expense. For the procedure, please see this page. Size exchanges are not available for international orders.
QMeasurements
Measurements are taken using our own method, designed to be easy for customers to replicate. For how we measure, please see this page.

As a guide, we recommend choosing by your actual waist measurement (around the navel). Rigid denim may shrink slightly after washing, so many customers choose one size up when in doubt. For how to measure your waist, please see this article (in Japanese).
QColors and prices
Product images are shown as close to the actual items as possible. Please be sure to check the colors and design in the detailed images on each product page.
*Colors may look slightly different depending on your monitor settings.

QCaring for your jeans
Before wearing, please be sure to check the care instructions and laundry symbols on the tags and invoice. We have put together care tips so you can enjoy your jeans for a long time. For details, please see this page.
QWhat is selvedge denim?
Selvedge denim is denim fabric woven slowly on vintage looms, with a red anti-fraying edge called the "selvedge" left along the edges of the fabric. Because it is woven slowly on old looms, air is trapped in the fabric, giving it a slightly uneven texture. As you wear it, the fading develops more distinctly, so you can enjoy aging that is uniquely yours.

QWhat is the difference between rigid and one-wash?
Rigid jeans are unwashed and still stiff with starch. One-wash jeans have been washed once and are softer.
Because rigid jeans start out stiff with starch in the fabric, they fade in a way that reflects your body and lifestyle, but you need to allow for shrinkage from washing when choosing a size. One-wash jeans are washed in advance, so the fabric shrinkage has already settled. This makes sizing easier, and they feel natural to wear right away. We recommend rigid if you want to break in your jeans from scratch, and one-wash if you value easy sizing and comfort.
For more on shrinkage from washing, please see this article (in Japanese).
QWhat is the B-1969-XX series?
Made with selvedge denim from Okayama, this is BOBSON's top-of-the-line model. It carries on the appeal of vintage jeans while offering a fit and silhouette that are easy to wear in everyday life today, along with the pleasure of breaking them in. These are jeans that the wearer completes over time.
You can browse the B-1969-XX series here.
QWhat kind of silhouette do bell-bottom jeans have?
Bell-bottom jeans follow the body from the hips to the thighs and flare out widely from around the knee to the hem. The style spread as a symbol of 1970s fashion, music and youth culture, and is now attracting attention again as a silhouette that makes the legs look longer. BOBSON has been making bell-bottoms since 1970 and has kept refining them over the years. Rather than simply widening the hem, we design them with the body's balance in mind to create a beautiful line.
